# How to Use the Table View Filters in TrendPulse

## Use the Table View filters to narrow your selection based on whether you want to identify top trends, emerging trends, or declining trends.

Here is a quick video to watch step by step [to help you begin your analysis using the Table View filters](https://www.loom.com/share/3542956afa764278b129fe0b2acb88ce).

Once you’ve selected your Trend Category filters, scroll past the bubble chart to the Table View. There, use the filters within each header to narrow your selection as you begin your analysis.

To begin to analyze **Google** search metrics, you can filter on each of the headers under Google (Trend Trajectory, TrendCast, and Average Weekly Searches). Use these filters to identify top trends currently, as well as emerging trends.

To analyze **Social** metrics, sort by your platform of choice—TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Expand the platform you want to explore, or expand all of them for a broader view. You can then sort by Period Total or Velocity to identify trends showing recent growth in views or posts. Velocity measures the increase or decrease in a trend’s growth rate during the selected period compared to the previous one. You can adjust the time period in the Smoothing Window at the top of the page to 1M, 3M, or 6M.

You can also filter on the **Social** **Engagement** (Rating) header to identify which trends the key tastemakers we track—influencers, brands, and retailers—are highlighting in their social media posts. This is a great way to spot emerging social trends from the influencer community.

To begin to analyze **Market** metrics, you can filter on each of the headers under Market Index (Flags and Discount). Use these filters to identify what trends are New to Market, Top Market Movers, and if a trend has a high or low discount level.

**How and When to Use this Tool**

1. **What are the top trends from a Google Search perspective:** Filter on Trend Trajectories that are showing Growth (Accelerated, Steady, Slowing) right now. This is great information to chase into a trend if you can react quickly production wise or if you can call out a trend from a Marketing/Site Merch and Social perspective.
2. **What are the emerging trends from a Google Search perspective:** Filter on Trend Trajectories that are showing Accelerated and Steady Growth right now. Also use the Average Weekly Search Volume filter to select Low volume searches. While these emerging trends may not be right for every customer or your customer may not be quite ready for this yet - it is useful to identify which trends to keep an eye on! You can use these filters to monitor trends when planning out your assortment a year or more in advance.
3. **See what trends are being talked about on Social Media:** Filter on Social Engagement (Strong and Average) to see what influencers, brands, and retailers are posting about. Sort by highest to lowest velocity to see the trends with the highest growth in views or posts for the platform of your choice.
4. **Use the New to Market filter to identify new trends retailers are chasing into:** Click into the trend to identify which retailers are the ones chasing into these trends (Fast Fashion, Contemporary, etc.).
5. **Use the Discount Filter to select Low Products to identify white space opportunities:** Based on all the top e-commerce sites we are tracking, this is stating that there are not enough products calling out this specific trend, flagging it as 'Low SKUs'. If you see a trend growing a search or social perspective, this is a great opportunity to capitalize on this trend from a SEO perspective or chase into a trend if you work with shorter lead times.
