# How to Analyze the Current Products in the Market for Design Inspiration

## View product assortments from aspirational brands to help give creative direction from Design to Marketing teams.

Here is a quick video to watch step by step[how to analyze products for design inspiration.](https://www.loom.com/share/de165930656e4b5cab7ba5bbdf5b89cf)

Once you have selected the Retailers, Brands, and any other filters, use the Market Stream to visually see each product within the assortment. **Note:** If you would like to see all styles and colors available, have the Style/Color toggled on at the top of the page.

To get more of an analysis of the trends that are happening within an assortment you are seeing, use the Attributes and Trends widget to view which attributes are most called out within each product description. Use the drop down to drill down into more specific attributes around color, print, fabrication, and more. To identify specific trends quickly, use the Search Product Description bar at the top to pull in those products. For example: if you would like to understand how a specific brand is investing into polka dot print and how it is being interpreted today, type in “Polka Dot” to see the products across an assortment.

For larger trend themes around prints or colors refer back to the Categories widget to understand which Category the brand is investing more in with that specific trend. Then use the Attributes and Trends widget to understand within the assortment (like Polka Dot print) what other details are being used, like ruffles, bows, sheer, maxi length.

Then finally, scroll down to the Market Stream itself to visually see the products within the assortment. Using the Polka Dot print example again, are you seeing more colors in the products, rather than the traditional black and white polka dot print. Are you seeing micro dots or very large dots? Are you seeing the print all over or just on the trimming?

**TL Tip:** You can also export the product images alongside the data from the Market Stream by clicking on the down arrow (there is a limit of 3,000 products).

If your customer likes to look at Luxury Trends, you can conduct the same type of analysis across a market segment, rather than several brands. Use the Retail Site filter to sort on a market segment, like Luxury, to understand how retailers are investing in a trend. You can then dive in further to identify which retailer or brand is investing into the trend more, by expanding either Retail Sites or Brands widget and referring to the Products and % to Total columns.
